LUX* Maldives (Part II)

Soaking up the sun.

Our water villa right at the end. We were also wondering why there was a gap for the last two water villas while the rest were close to each other.

Manta ray feeding session near the Eastern buffet restaurant. This manta ray got really sick and tired of waiting as the fishies kept snatching his food, he went right up to ask for his meal to be served (there's a video on my instagram).

Gorgeous sunset at the west point of the island.

One of the candle light set-ups.

Another candle light set-up, this is the Herb Garden.

Just so you know, most of their restaurants only open at night.

Date night, we made our reservations at their Japanese restaurant, Umami.

Loved the interior of the restaurant, so zen. Dining by the window, I get to see the fishies swimming under the stilts.

Champagne for the boy.

One of the best sushi rolls we have ever eaten.

And the freshest sashimi. The boy isn't a fan of sashimi but he loved this too.

Even the rice was very fragrant.

Chewy textured udon with the tastiest broth.

Sky full of stars. We just laid there for an hour stargazing.

Took a buggy the next morning to try the Western buffet spread. Only took a picture of this chocolate waffle but we ate other stuffs as well haha.

B'cuz it was so scorching hot, we decided to just go snorkeling. We snorkeled around the island and spotted a baby shark in the shallow waters.

Hi there, Mr. Pufferfish.

Ordered room service at about 3pm as we were starving from all that snorkeling, but the food was really disappointing. Ordered a bowl of udon and it was nothing compared to what I ate the night before.

We went around the island in hopes of finding the message in a bottle.

Behind the scenes of this shot was hilarious. We had to wait for the tide to go down before we could jump onto the chair haha. I managed to go up successfully without getting my shoes wet, but when I was posing for the picture, the water went into my shoes. So much for not getting wet.

Chanced upon this beautiful sunset at the west point, even the buggy drivers and staffs of the resort stopped to snap a photo.

We were supposed to have our candle light dinner on the coral terrace, however, we decided to cancel it as it was raining earlier on and they told us to pick another location. There was none that we really liked, so we decided to spend the money going for another round of Umami. This time we ordered the teppanyaki set.

Best miso soup that I have ever had. Totally different from the one from their buffet breakfast.

Ohh-so-juicy scallops.

Really loved the food at Umami, two thumbs up.

Every day, when we return to our villa, we would receive a towel art from our housekeeper, Ismail. He comes in the morning and in the evening. His service was top-notched. Just look at our mini safari that he had created for us, too cute.

We woke up at 5am for the last day.

The bikes were great as we didn't have to walk such a distance to the reception since our villa was at the corner. However, we only managed to rent these bikes on our second last day. The silver bikes are USD$5 per day, but there are yellow bikes at bike stations that are free of charge. Only the silver bikes can be cycled back to your villa though.

Cheers to an amazing time in Maldives.

As we had to gather at the reception by 8.30am to board the seaplane, I took some time to feed the fishies some bread before bidding them farewell.

You've been amazing, Maldives. Never thought that I would enjoy a beach vacay so much, we were treated like royalties. Can't wait for school to be over, I need another getaway already.
