Lunar New Year

The time of the year for feasting again, good food all day everyday. I can't control myself when it comes to pineapple tartz. Guilty pleasures. Oh my oh my...

CNY has become quieter over the years, I don't know if it is b'cuz we are growing up way too fast. I really miss having Sissy around, two is always better than one.

Just had a reunion lunch with the boy's family at Paradise Inn and reunion dins with my family at home. The season to get fat.

Looook, it is totally my year this year.
Here's wishing everyone a prosperous Chinese New Year!!!

When in Rome

When in Rome, do as the Romans do.

We arrived late at night, streets were dark, strangers were lurking around the alleys and the road was extremely uneven. Needless to say, we got lost again. We went around blocks looking for our B&B urgently as we had to reach our accommodation by 11pm otherwise there would be a late check-in charge . Like things couldn't get any worse, the wheels of our 20kg luggage gave way on us.

It was already past 11pm when we arrived outside a huge old black door, to be honest I was having a bad hunch about how horrible the place would be. We got there just in time, the receptionist was already locking up the place and ready to leave in her boyfriend's car. Imagine what a mess we would have been if were to reach a minute later. We entered the building and climbed up these winding stairs that reminded me of a zombie show, I'm totally not exaggerating, there was a very old lift in the middle of the staircase where you even had to close the doors yourself. Thankfully, when we opened our bedroom door, it wasn't as bad as what I was expecting.

This is the room. Sorry about the mess, we stayed here for 3 nights. And yes, there is a mirror on our bed frame.

We were charged extra 15 Pounds for the late check-in, but the receptionist was pretty kind, she gave us some options on where we could get our luggage wheel's fixed. And she even offered us a luggage if our luggage couldn't be used anymore. We spent the next day getting the luggage repaired.

We walked around a lot during our time in Rome, probably more than 10km per day. But we ate a lot of ice cream too, so I guess it kinda evens out hahaha. The Colosseum was one of my favourite attractions in Rome. It really is an ancient piece of artwork.

Your smile so cute.

We took this with the smile shot haha which explains his face.

Too gorgeous.

The Gladiator, yah right.

Picture perfect.

Third Day in Rome. There was a parade going on outside The Colosseum, so we had to make a huge detour.

Right outside the Vatican City.

We roamed around in Rome.

Markets that I love exploring.

Pretty pastas.

A sausage dog basking in the sun haha so cute.

More pastas.

Even their signboards are cute.

Chanced upon this shop selling really cute cupcakes, cakes, etc.

We ordered a red velvet cupcake and a blueberry cheesecake.

And drum roll please, this is by far the best bagel I have ever had in my life. The ham and mustard goes so well together. Have been craving for it ever since I had it, sooo good.

I really like these sorta cute simple designs. Would love to learn how to bake a cake and design it when I have the time.

Made our wishes at the Trevi Fountain and flipped our coins into the fountain backwards over our right shoulders. #dreamscometrue

My kind of bicycle.

Their police cars are too cool.

Super trees.

An ice cream a day keeps the doctor away.
