Roadtrippin' in Western Australia (Part II)

On the fifth day of our trip, we left the Farmstay and headed back northwards towards Perth, which was a two hour drive. Along the way, we stopped by at One Forty for breakfast. Their big breakfasts are really pretty damn good. Headed to Scarborough beach to check out what Perth's beaches look like, and to be honest, we were not blown away. Busselton Jetty and Hamelin Bay had really nice beaches and there wasn't much of a crowd.

Freshly squeezed orange juice at One Forty, AUD$6.

Their big breakfast.

Scarborough beach at Perth.

After Perth, we drove up north for another two hours to the Pinnacles. Unlike down south, there aren't much trees and the grass looked very withered up north. We even spotted a snake on the road.

Winding roads, just like in the movies.

Arrived at the Pinnacles at about 5pm. It was a cloudy day, wanted to catch the sunset but there wasn't even much sun. Such a pity. We took a drive through and it was a really challenging road to drive as there were many rocks everywhere, the route to drive through was really narrow too. There were points to park our car to get off and snap pictures.

The folks and I.

It would have been really charming if we managed to catch the pink sunset.

Then, I spotted a wild kangaroo and her joey!

I even witnessed the joey climbing into her pouch.

By the time we were done with the Pinnacles, we drove to Cervantes to check into our holiday home. Got recommended to try out a lobster platter at a nearby community club for dins. And while waiting for our food to be served, the boy was checking the reviews of the restaurant, turned out that it had nasty reviews saying that the wait was an hour and a half long and the lobster was overcooked.

Here's our lobster platter, AUD$75. Thankfully it wasn't as horrible as we expected it to be.

Had a one night stay at Cervantes Holiday Homes, which was a three bedroom house. I had an unsettling feeling at our stay there, couldn't sleep the entire night and I heard footsteps by the bed. I was really terrified till I kept the boy awake as well, I bugged him to watch movies with me till 4am. Only managed to fall asleep at 5am, so we only had 2 hours of sleep that night.

Checked out and went to Lake Thetis. This lake came about from a very early era.

Those rock-shaped like things are stromatolites.

Drove to Kangaroo Point and spotted wild kangaroos again! This one was crossing the road.

Spot the roo.

Lancelin Dunes. Didn't bring our snow boards to slide down the dunes. I thought that the sand would be hot since it was summer, but to my surprise, it was cool instead.

Getting sand smacked right in the face when we were sitting down to pose.

Caversham Wildlife Park. Very excited to see the koalas and pet/feed the roos.

A horny man haha.

"Ohh sup mate? Just chillin'."

White kangaroooos.

I love it!!! They are so cute. Had no idea that their fur's so soft.

Hi. I think you just woke haha. #sleepyface Did you know that koalas sleep for at least 20 hours a day? #factoftheday

My little pony.

Molly's farmshow.

Farm dog herding the sheep.

Meh meh getting shaved.

Baa baa white sheep has no more wool.

The last two days, we explored Perth and did our shopping. We started the day by heading to a seafood shop and bought lobsters, crayfishes and abalone.

Had our lunch at Outback Bar & Grill. It was a huge slab of pork ribs, but mainly bones, very little meat. Beef was also quite disappointing.

We got hungry after awhile, so we had korean at a food court which was yummy.

Kings Park & Botanic Garden. I love tall trees that grow in a row. Walking down memory lane. We had a birds eye view of Perth and it was gorgeous.

Breathtaking.

Love.

We started walking this trail that was very deserted. We were also unsure that if there is an exit at the end of it, but we just took a gamble. It was reassuring when we saw joggers along the way. We walked on for about half an hour or more until we managed to see "light at the end of the tunnel". Felt so accomplished when we finally found the blue boatshed at Matilda Bay that I wanted to take my OOTD shots at.

I caught this dandelion-looking plant while it was floating in the air and it kinda became my balloon.

The blue boatshed at Matilda Bay.

Love you x

Caught the sunset.

We realised that we missed the last bus and ended walking back to our hotel. Took us about an hour plus. I think we walked more than 10km that day. It was already dark when we got back to the hotel.

Christmas tree lit up in the distance. We walked all the way to that glowing bridge and even beyond that.

Didn't capture anything on the last day since we were busy shopping away. I had a blast with my family, well basically b'cuz all I did was enjoy myself in the backseat and I didn't have to drive nor navigate haha. More roadtrips of such please, I'm hoping with a bunch of friends. I'm sure it would be so much fun. Till next time!
